Vera Elnitskaya was born in Moscow where she lives and works. She is, among others, pupil of Aron Bukh and takes part with extraordinary passion to the city and new Russia artistic life.

She is an artist some time not easy to understand, often swept away by her infuriating formal research. But she is never platitudinous nor expected. She succeed on all occasions to express a content even through non obvious forms and non natural colours. She is not realist nor figurative but her foreshortened views of Moscow are romantic scenes of a beautiful and colourful city; she is not an impressionist but she feels on the skin , and from the skin transfers to her works, the impressionist influence of her "maestro" that she adores, Aron Bukh. Vera landscapes are strokes and splashes of colour where sometime the perspectives lack, where often the perpendicularities do not exist, where the joinings between boulevards and buildings, trees and rivers, vases and flowers happen following not the geometric technical encoding but through an interior sense of equilibrium which belongs to the artist and that the artist wishes to transfer. Not always the observer can be on the same wave-length as Vera: the striking contrast of the lines that often follows the volumes chromatic mellowness arouses an indifference which is realised with a rapid and cursory glance. But the attentive observer enters into Vera Elnitskaya heart just through those lines and those volumes and absorb the extraordinary capability to express the genius of her city and her life. The Moscow night views and the Metro stations, the old Arbat street buildings, the huge boulevards on the Moscova river, the colours of the churches are all of them magnificent frescoes which are becoming parts of that Moscow history we know today, of that extraordinary metropolis, rich lively deep intense romantic, beautiful. Vera has painted much in Italy, invited by the association Russiarte, which should be thanked for that. She has Immediately absorbed the light of our country, of Morandi homeland, lights and shadows which, green and ochre, have no comparison in Russia. She has painted with the same fall in love for the light she has for her world, she has realised a series of artworks on the bologna country which will become soon formal cornerstones of the contemporary landscape painting. Vera exhibited in many collectives in Russia, Estonia, United Kingdom, Canada, Italy. Her works are kept in public and private collections in Russia, Canada, United States, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Estonia, Lithuania, Italy.
